Thank you for your interest in publishing with Beauty of the Earth Books!

Current Submission Status: CLOSED

As a small, independent publisher, we can only take on a limited number of projects each year to ensure we give each book the attention and care it deserves.

We are currently closed for submissions as we focus on our current projects. We anticipate opening for submissions again in Fall 2026.

Please note: Submissions sent while we are closed will not be saved or responded to. We encourage you to wait until we officially reopen for submissions to ensure your work receives proper consideration.

We encourage you to check back closer to that time for updated submission guidelines and to submit your work.

What We're Looking For

When we reopen for submissions, we will be seeking projects that align with our mission and values:

Genre & Audience

Christian children's books only
Picture books (ages 3-8)
Chapter books (ages 6-10)
Stories that nurture faith, wonder, and biblical values
Content that reflects God's love and beauty in everyday life

What We're NOT Looking For

Young adult or middle grade novels
Non-fiction
Board books for infants/toddlers
General market (non-Christian) content
Books with theological content outside mainstream evangelical Christianity

Submission Guidelines

When submissions reopen in Fall 2026, please prepare the following materials:

For Picture Book Submissions

Query letter - Brief introduction including your background and why your book is a good fit for Beauty of the Earth Books
Complete manuscript - Picture book manuscripts should be under 1,000 words
Illustration notes (optional) - Only if essential to understanding the story; we work with our own illustrators
Author bio - Include any relevant writing credentials, publications, or platform information

For Chapter Book Submissions

Query letter - Brief introduction including your background and why your book is a good fit for Beauty of the Earth Books
Complete manuscript or first three chapters - Chapter books typically range from 5,000-10,000 words
Synopsis - 1-2 page summary of the complete story
Author bio - Include any relevant writing credentials, publications, or platform information

For Illustrator Submissions

We are always looking for talented illustrators who share our vision for creating beautiful, faith-filled children's books.

What to submit:

Cover letter - Brief introduction about yourself, your illustration style, and why you'd like to work with Beauty of the Earth Books
Portfolio - 8-12 samples of your best work, preferably including children's book illustrations or similar projects
Link to online portfolio - If available (website, Instagram, Behance, etc.)
Rate information - Please include your rates for picture book illustration projects (per page, per project, or hourly rate)
Resume/CV - Including any published work, relevant experience, and education

Style considerations:

We seek illustrations that are warm, engaging, and age-appropriate
Art should complement Christian themes and values
Experience with traditional picture book illustration is a plus
Digital and traditional media are both welcome

Formatting Requirements

Manuscripts should be in standard manuscript format
Use 12-point Times New Roman or similar readable font
Double-spaced text
One-inch margins
Include page numbers and your contact information in the header

For authors: SUBMISSION - [Picture Book or Chapter Book] - [Your Book Title]
For illustrators: ILLUSTRATOR PORTFOLIO - [Your Name]

What to Expect

Response Time

We review all submissions carefully. Please allow 8-12 weeks for a response. Due to the high volume of submissions we receive, we can only respond to projects we wish to pursue further.

Simultaneous Submissions

We accept simultaneous submissions (submitting to multiple publishers at once), but please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Previously Published Work

At this time, we are only considering original, previously unpublished manuscripts.
